Commencement 2024The Lees-McRae community gathered in Williams Gymnasium to celebrate the class of 2024. Graduation is always an exciting time of year and 2024 was no exception. Due to weather concerns, graduates and their families all gathered indoors in Williams Gymnasium. Pictured above is a group of graduates who decided to play a game of charades to pass the time. The class of 2024 was addressed by Parker Grubbs, Chair of the Board of Trustees. The audience was then treated to a performance by the Highlanders before the first graduates walked across the stage. The crowd then roared for the next forty minutes as their loved ones received their diploma and a handshake from their dean. Emotions were on display all throughout the ceremony. The COVID-19 pandemic dominated a large portion of these students lives and ending things in a normal fashion evoked strong reactions from students and family alike. In total, over 200 students completed their degree.
